Debris loader support

Support for the Foresteel G2 debris loaders — MIDvac G2, MIDvac-EL G2 and PROvac G2. Engine manuals, service kits and wear parts, with the order codes you need to buy from your dealer or from us.

Which machine do you have?

Your model name and serial number are on the identification plate riveted to the frame. Parts and service kits differ by engine, so check this before you order.

The identification plate is riveted to the frame. Model, production year and serial number are the three fields to quote when ordering parts or contacting support.

This page covers G2 models only
Earlier MIDvac units were built with a 13 HP Briggs & Stratton XR engine, not the 14 HP Vanguard. Engine manuals, service kits and oil quantities on this page do not apply to them. If your machine has a 13 HP XR engine, contact your dealer or us for the correct parts.

Engine manuals

Engine service, parts and warranty run through Briggs & Stratton. Each link opens the document list for that exact engine.
14 HP Vanguard, 25V337-0009-F1 — fitted to MIDvac G2 and MIDvac-EL G2  ·  18 HP Vanguard, 356447-0647-F1 — fitted to PROvac G2

Which file to download
Each link opens the full document list for that engine. Choose MANUAL, OPERATOR’S and the language group that fits you — Western European covers German, French and Swedish; Eastern European covers Estonian. Parts manuals and the Statement of Conformity are on the same page.

Different engine? If your machine carries another engine number, enter it at vanguardpower.com in Model-Type-Trim format — for example 25V337-0009-F1. The number is stamped into the engine. Faster still: scan the Vanguard Power Code QR label on the engine with your phone.

Foresteel operator’s manual is supplied with every machine and is not published online. If yours has gone missing, contact your dealer or us for a replacement copy.

Engine oil5W-30 synthetic covers most conditions. Vanguard 15W-50 synthetic gives the best protection in sustained heat. Any high-quality detergent oil classified SF, SG, SH, SJ or higher is acceptable. Do not use oil additives.
FuelClean, fresh unleaded petrol, minimum 87 octane (91 RON). Up to 10% ethanol (E10) permitted.
Fuel not approvedE15 and E85. Do not mix oil into the petrol or convert the engine to alternative fuels — resulting damage is not covered by warranty.
Engine warranty3 years commercial, plus a further year if you register the engine at vanguardpower.com.

Finding your engine numbers
Vanguard commercial engines carry a Power Code QR label on the engine itself. Scanning it with your phone camera returns the engine model number, operator’s manual and illustrated parts list. Without it, use the stamped Model, Type and Code numbers, entered in Model-Type-Trim format.

Service kits

Everything for one service in a single box, matched to your engine. Order from your dealer or here.

NB! First oil change at 5 running hours on the 14 HP engine.

Wear and spare parts

Hardox wear components are designed to be replaced. Replacing them on time protects the housing and keeps airflow and shredding at full strength. Most operators replace wear parts once every few seasons; heavy users more often. Quote your model, serial number and the order code when ordering.

When to replace them

Shredder blade: teeth dull or chipped, shredding ratio dropping, or any crack. Operator-replaceable.
Wear liner: wear visible and significant, or any crack or deformation — wear-through to the housing is a late warning. Workshop job.
Impeller: any crack, deformation or loss of balance. Inspect after any foreign object, abnormal noise or vibration. Workshop operation — contact us first.

Hose and fittings

Replace any hose section with cracks, splits, pinholes, hardening, collapsed reinforcement or jacket abrasion. Replace the Quick-Connect if the latch is weak or fails to click positively — then check the safety switch still engages.

Troubleshooting

If the cause is not listed here, or the problem persists, contact your Foresteel dealer.

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
Engine will not crank (electric start)Flat battery or loose connectionCheck the battery and its connections, then see the engine manual.
Engine cranks but will not fireHose not seated, so the safety switch is openRe-seat the hose fully and confirm the Quick-Connect latches.
Engine cranks but will not fireFuel valve closed, no fuel, or wrong choke settingOpen the valve, refuel, correct the choke.
Engine cranks but will not fireSpark plug fouled or wrong gapService per the engine manual. Gap 0.76 mm.
Weak suctionNozzle lifted, partial throttle, tight hose bend, hose damage or a clogKeep the nozzle wheels on the ground. Run full throttle. Route the hose in smooth wide curves. Inspect the hose. Clear the clog.
Suction drops gradually during a sessionContainer filling and creating back-pressureEmpty the container.
Material passes through unshreddedFeeding too fast, dull blade, spacer fitted, or partial throttleSlow the feed, run full throttle, replace the shredder blade.
Engine suddenly racesFull clog or damage — the impeller is no longer doing workStop. Inspect the airflow path and the impeller before restarting.
Sudden impact, rattle or rumbleForeign object ingestedStop. Inspect impeller, shredder blade and wear liner.
Vibration increasing steadilyImpeller out of balanceStop and inspect the impeller. Do not continue use.
Material blowing back toward the operatorDeflector angle wrong, or container fullAdjust the deflector between −5° and +30°. Empty the container.

Most clogs come from partial throttle. Below full throttle the turbine drops under the speed needed to shred and move material. Run full throttle for all working loads — idle only for warm-up, cool-down and brief pauses, and never feed material at idle.

Before opening the housing
Engine off, ignition off, fuel valve closed, spark plug cap disconnected. The impeller is direct-driven and keeps turning for about 60 seconds after the engine stops. Confirm visually at the engine shaft that it has stopped completely.
